Two scenarios:
An Atheist dies and he simply ceases to exist. His consciousness blips out like a light and there is no more.
A Theist dies and he is immediately absorbed into the heart of God, not different and individual anymore, without separate identity.
Is this a comforting thought, either way, or is it basically alarming?
Is it our individuality we hold onto, that wherever we end up, we will still be ourselves?
How do you feel about this?
Do you absolutely require an afterlife, a Heaven, or would you be satisfied with losing your identity and the continuing story of some sort of life?
It never crosses my mind because I have discovered that whenever I try to imagine ‘not being’ there I am imagining not being.
‘Fear’ requires something that is not real in order to manifest. In Reality there is no fear. It Is. What is there to fear in that? It’s very nature is Joy and Bliss. Having discovered this only my ego/mind/body experience fear. I can disregard it because I know its source to be unreal.
I do not require an afterlife. After what? Life is. It has no opposite. The opposite of birth is death. The opposite of death is birth. Life Is what is happening in the ever constant play of birth and death.
