This excerpt features Martin reading from a section of his essay titled
‘The Energetics of DMT Consciousness and the Body’ where he details his opinion of the difference between smoked nnDMT, 5-MeO-DMT, the ayahuasca experience, and supports the idea that when speaking of smoked tryptamines, 5-MeO-DMT has much more shamanic/spiritual potential than nnDMT.
Personally, I believe that it can go either way, depending on the person. I for one hold a very similar belief on nnDMT and 5-MeO-DMT, but it is the fact that I hold such a belief, that leads me to believe that the smoked nnDMT experience has much more to offer. For example: I do not believe it is so much the 5-MeO-DMT that gives one the experience of god, as it is our own intent. Of course the 5-MeO-DMT will bring anyone there with a proper dose, but I and many others have been able to (some through meditation some spontanious)have the same experience without the sacrament. (yes breakthrough and all) (What follows is a concept that was taught to me by 5-MeO-DMT, I have yet to be able to put it into full practise due to a lack of said specific sacrament, but in my heart I know this will be accomplished, as such intuitions have yet to fail me.)
My proposition is, that if one can master the ego death while in the nnDMT space, one may bring the dance of the two molecules into unison and provide one with endless ‘time’ to work with such ‘realms’. When Martin says that the smoked nnDMT is too short in duration, I concur, but at the same time, I beleive this is probably a perceptual bias. What I mean by this is, when I smoke 5-MeO-DMT, time disappears, and it is up to the observer how long they want to be gone. Of course the body is only affected for 20 minutes or so, but that has nothing to do with the ability to liberate one self of such suggested restraints. I personally have journeyed for thousands of years on many occasions.
In combination of this sense of “time travel” and the advent of learning how to ‘let go’ without a sacrament to induce the same experience, I believe that nnDMT has plenty of spiritual and shamanic potential.One thing I will say though, is that the 5-MeO-DMT experience is definitely a required course. Im not saying you have to actually smoke 5-MeO-DMT to take the course, (it helps) but it is definitely the kind of work we will inevitably be presented with and required to do at some point along our sojourn(s).
One day, when I can work with nnDMT readily, I will write something up or make a video reporting my results of my hypothesis, until then, someone please figure it out before me and do the same!
